Almost every second weekend in the Summer (sometimes every weekend) we pack up the truck and the kids, load
the race cars on their trailers and head south of the Bombays to Meremere. As our name suggests we like the odd drink, never
have any money but love to have a good time with our family and friends. We have a lot of help from both family and friends,
without whom none of this would be possible.
The kids all get involved. They all help with the cars and love going
for rides.
Our main aim is to have a great race day. By that we mean being able to drive the car onto the trailer at
the end of the day, and getting as many people into the car as possible. At Meremere we are allowed to have passengers so
we try to get a different passenger in the car for every race.
The No. 28 car is raced in three classes—A
Hotrod, (driven by Ted), Saloon Mechanics, (driven by Kurt) and Ladies, (driven by Sharon). The No. 50 Car is raced
in the B Altered Class, and is driven by Warren. The No. 34 car (when it gets to the track) will be driven by Tyler
in the B Altered Class. (pics coming soon, hopefully!)
There is also rookies races and the end of every meeting and if it is at all possible we will put somebody
into the cars to have a drive.
